  • Coryphantha clavata subs. stipitata (Scheidw.) Dicht & A.Lüthy: Central spine always hooked. Flowers 35-40 m in diameter. Distribution: Zacatecas, Guanajuato, San Luis Potosi and Jalisco, mainly around Lagos de Moreno.
