  • Cycas clivicola K.D.Hill: has a greyish coloured trunk. The male cones are small with sporophylls less than 25 mm long. Distribution: Malaysia (Peninsular Malaysia); Thailand.
  • Cycas clivicola subs. lutea K.D.Hill: has a yellowish coloured trunk, a feature shared with Cycas pectinata. Male cones larger with sporophylls more than 25 mm long. Distribution: Cambodia; Thailand; Viet Nam.
