Piptanthocereus uruguayanus
Kakteen Südamerika 1: 244. 1979 nom. nud. Remarks: Ritter erred in flagging P. uruguayanus as a "nom. nov." for "Cereus peruvianus Werdermann" (in Notizbl. Bot. Gart. Berlin-Dahlem 12(114): 445. 1935), non C. peruvianus (L.)Mill. 1768). Werdermann, however, did not publish C. peruvianus; he used C. peruvianus (L.) Miller (1768). Neither Werdermann nor Ritter provided a Latin diagnosis.
